Day 3 – Scenography and audiovisual creations

Workshop 1

Digital Scenography: The Body Seized in Space, by Line Nault

This workshop will present an overview of the relationship with technologies. Space becomes a territory encouraging the experimentation of interactive devices that modify sound, image, light, etc.

Line Nault is interested in the perceptive rather than the spectacular. Through the body that speaks or moves, it reveals the invisible structures of human mechanisms and machine behaviors. She describes her approach as interstitial, both in her work on the body and in her view of artistic practices.

Objectives and learnings

Interactivity, real time, space definition, use of cameras, sensors (Kinect and others), projections, sound, nonlinear scripting/writing, scenic mapping, programming tools (patches, simulators, etc.), video scenography.

Workshop 2

V-Jing / techno audiovisual, by Teo Zamudio

Teo Zamudio will present an overview of audiovisual projects produced with susy.technology, a collective experimenting with interactive media. He will explain more specifically the project New Depths, which explores the potential of augmented reality with the Web. His presentation will raise reflections on the technological mediation that transforms our experience and our understanding of the world.

Objective and learning

Audiovisual technologies, stages of project development, programming languages (html, javascript, 3d, etc.), use of libraries (scripts), direct edition of the source code, etc.

Workshop 3

Virtual reality, augmented reality, by Santiago Tavera

In his own workshop on de Gaspé street, Santiago Tavera will share his experience of the use of digital media for the creation of augmented spaces and mixed realities.

In his practice, Tavera mixes computer graphics, 3D animation, text and virtual reality. His audiovisual installations play with materials and explore the surfaces as spaces of reflection to which he grafts narratives of fiction, taking into account the architectural spaces where the work is presented.

Objectives and learnings

Sharing experience around the presentation of recent projects in Canada and Colombia in the form of exhibitions and experimental workshops.
